  • Home to the NaNa dune

    american beach

Home to Florida’s tallest sand dune and rich in African-American history, American Beach is one of Amelia Island’s best treasures. American Beach was founded in 1935 by A.L.Lewis, Florida’s first Black millionaire, as a safe, seaside retreat for Black Americans, during the years of Jim Crow segregation.

  • Seaside Park

Right across from Amelia Surf Co., Seaside Park is a beautiful beach on a wide stretch of sand. Popular with local surfers and paddle boarders, it’s alive with water sports. Best yet, it’s right next to Sliders Seaside Grill, one of my favorite breakfast spots on A.I.

  • Fort Clinch

Fort Clinch State Park is home to a well-preserved, historic 19th century fort as well as miles of pristine beaches and nature trails. One of the exciting features of Fort Clinch beaches is that they are great for shark tooth hunting.

  • main Beach Park

Located on the north end of the island, Main Beach offers some of the best shelling on the island. With ample parking, mini-golf, playground and two great restaurants nearby, Main Beach Park offers a family-friendly atmosphere.

  • Burney Park Beach

This picturesque beach on the south side of Amelia Island has a long stretch of pristine white sand and clear waters. Thanks to its beautiful dune system, the beach is popular with nature lovers and bird watchers.
