  • 1928 Cuban Bistro

    This authentic Cuban bistro in Downtown Fernandina Beach is a treasure! With fabulous coffee (or cafe’ if you prefer), pastries, sandwiches and breakfast/lunch platters, a beautiful dining room and friendly service, 1928 has everything you’d want for breakfast, lunch, or a relaxing coffee break. I highly recommend the bon bon cafe. With espresso and sweetened condensed mild, it’s the perfect sweet treat or pick me up. And their empanadas are delicious! My favorite is their special 1928 recipe with has tender pork and sweet plantains wrapped in a delicate empanada. It’s to die for!

    Located within Mocama Beer Company’s mid-century modern building, this hipster-chic, coffee house is a real community favorite. With lots of room to spread out at cafe tables and lounge chairs, Mocama Coffee is the perfect place for working remotely or relaxing with a great book. I recommend their Lavender Latte.

    My Cuban heritage may color my perspective just a bit, but that aside, Hola Cuban Cafe really is fantastic! For an authentic Cuban breakfast, I recommend their cafe con leche and tostada. And their croquetas are the perfect afternoon snack. Grab a table in their beautiful courtyard and enjoy some island sunshine!
