  • A.L. Lewis Museum at American Beach

    The A.L. Lewis Museum at American Beach documents and celebrates the history of Florida’s first Black millionaire and founder of American Beach, A.L. Lewis. Housed in a small blue cottage are the exhibits that tell the story of this ocean-front haven for Black-Americans during the Jim Crow era, the talented artists it drew, and the trail-blazers that fought to preserve American Beach.

    Blue Door Artists is a community of local artists with unique styles and mediums. Housed in a charming, historic building in the heart of downtown Fernandina Beach, Blue Door Artists showcases paintings, prints, pottery, jewelry and more (including their signature tote bag with an image of their colorful staircase!) The artists are often on-site and available to answer questions.
